ESCHATOLOGY

We believe in the blessed hope, the personal, visible and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to take all believers to heaven. We believe in the pre-tribulation rapture of the saints. We believe in a literal 7-year tribulation period. We believe in the literal millennial reign of Christ after the 7 years of tribulation. We believe that after the millennial reign of Christ Satan will attempt one last attack on Christ and will be eternally cast into the lake of fire along with all unbelievers. And those who have accepted Christ’s gift of salvation with spend all of eternity with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Terms Explained:

Blessed Hope: The return of the Lord is an event that believers ought to wait for with high expectation and excitement. As still imperfect people, we eagerly await the restoration to perfect Christ-likeness after the return of Jesus Christ (Titus 2:11-13; Romans 8:18-25; 1 Peter 1:7,13, 4:13; 2 Thessalonians 1:7, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians1:7).

Personal, visible: Jesus, not just in spirit, but in bodily form, will return to this earth in the clouds to take His children to heaven (Acts 1:11).

Imminent: Believers, as faithful stewards, ought to consider the return of Christ as an event, which is about to happen, and therefore, though patient, we are to be alert to such an event as we seek to glorify Him through our lives (John 14:2-3; Acts 1:11; 1 Corinthians 15:51-58; Titus 2:13).

Patient Lifestyle: The Bible's teaching concerning the Lord's impending return is always set in the context of practical exhortation, focusing upon our present lifestyle, rather than upon undue speculation (1 Corinthians 15:51-58; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Peter 3:11).

Time line of events: We believe that just before the 7 year Tribulation, Jesus will return in the clouds to take His saints (those who have trusted Jesus Christ as their personal Savoir) to heaven with Him. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18; 1 Corinthians 15:51-57) We believe that those reaming on the earth after the Rapture will experience 7-years of tribulation (Revelation 6:19) We believe that after the tribulation period Christ will once again return, this time physically, to the earth where He will rule and reign for 1,000 years. At this time Satan will be bound and will have no interaction with mankind. (Revelation 19:11-20:6) We believe that after this period of 1,000 years Satan will be willingly loosed and allowed to make one last attempt to over throw God. He will be swiftly and soundly defeated and eternally sentenced to the lake of fire, as will all unbelievers. (Revelation 20:7-15) We belie that after this event all those who have accepted Christ’s Salvation will enjoy all eternity with Him and the Father and the Spirit. (Revelation 21:1-22:21)
