CREATION

We believe that God created the universe in six literal, 24-hour periods. We reject evolution, the Gap Theory, the Day-Age Theory, and Theistic Evolution as unscriptural theories of origin (Genesis 1-2; Exodus. 20:11; Hebrews 11:3; Colossians 1:16; Job 26:13; Romans 1:20; Acts 17:24; Nehemiah 9:6; Isaiah 40:28).

Terms explained:

Evolution: The theory that the universe and all in it was formed by chance without the supernatural, purposeful hand of God.

Gap Theory: The theory that an unspecified amount of time transpired between the created works described in Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2.

Day-Age Theory: The theory that each day referenced speaks not of a literal day but rather an “age” or lengthy period of time.

Theistic Evolution: The theory that God did create the world but than left it to work its self out via to evolve to what it is today.
